2016 Christmas Sew Along… Part 4

Today we are going to work on Block one side and corner blocks. How’s everyone coming along with their previous parts?

Fabric and Numbering Chart

Side Blocks #1, Make 7

Side Block #1 Piece count and lettering chart.

This block will measure 6″ x 12″ finished.

*This patch count is for making one block*

Assembly Side Block #1

Use the 7 already assembled rows from part 2, block 1.

Half Square Triangle Make 36

Sew the color 3 patch Patch A to color 4 patch A press to the darker side. Trim the Block so that it will measure 2 1/2″x 2 1/2″ square. This block will use 14 HST.

Not all units will be used save the rest to be used in Part 5

Side block 1 Assembly:

Row 1 Use the already assembled rows from Part 2

Row 2 sew a HST to a Fabric 2 Patch B patch, to a Fabric 5 Patch D rectangle, to a Fabric 2 Patch B, to HST

Sew both rows together making sure that the Fabric 2 patch D is against focal fabric 2 patch D. This unit will Measure 2 1/2″ x 12 1/2″.

These side blocks 1 are now finished. The finished block will measure 6 1/2″ x 12 1/2″. Lets move on to corner blocks.

Corner block 1,Make 2

These blocks will finish to 6″x 6″.

Asseembling Corner Block 1:

Sew 2 1/2″ HST that were previously made to Color 2 Patch B. Make 2 of these. Watch that the color 1 is against the color 2. These units will Measure 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″.
