2016 Christmas Sew Along… Part 5

Can you believe it we are down to the second last step in this sew along… Is everyone still caught up?  Today we will work on the block  #2 side and corner blocks.

Fabric and numbering Chart:

Side blocks #2, Make 7

Block #2 side Piece count and lettering chart.

This block will measure 6″ x 12″ finished.

Side block #2 Assembly:

Use the already assembled HST long row from part 3,  there should be 7.capture-1c

Use the already assemble  HST  short units from part 4 there should be 14.capture-1b

Sew the short units with the HST to the sides of Fabric 6 patch D.

Sew the Top to the assembled block. Watch so the orientation of the row so that color 1 touches color 6. Press to color 2.  This block is now complete it should measure 6 1/2″ x 12 1/2″

Corner block #2, Make 2

These blocks will measure 6″ x 6″ when finished.

Corner block #2 Assembly:

Use the already assemble  HST  short units from part 4 there should be 4.

Sew the short HST unit to the side of Fabric 6 patch C  Make note that the color 4 is touching color 6. Measurements are 4 1/2″ x 4 1/2″.   Make 2 of these units.

Sew the long unit to the assembled unit so that color 1 touches color 6. Press to color 2.  This block is now completed. It should measure 6 1/2″ x 6 1/2″.capture-1

These are all the blocks that we have made today.
