Canada’s Big Quilting bee.

What have I been working on since my last post? The quilt guild that I am part of is working on doing blocks for the Quilting bee thru Canadian Quitters Association. Here’s the link to the information on this wonderful event:

The aim of this is to either make slab blocks and send them in for the association to complete the quilts or to make the tops or to finish them. They are trying to get 1000 quilts donated to the Ronald McDonald houses across Canada to comfort the children that stay in these homes during their treatments and recovery from their illnesses.capture

This is the Slab block and directions…https://www.canadianquilter.com/pdf/quilt-canada-2017/Quilting-Bee-How-to-make-a-block.pdf it is to finish out at 12″  each block must have at least on fabric from the Canadian anniversary line that local quilt shops carry.capture

This project is a great stash buster I just pulled out a bunch of fabrics from my scrap box and sewed the together. The only thing I had to purchase was the Canadian fabric and I bought 1/4 metre this will be enough to make many other blocks/quilt. This is my finished quilt that I am passing on.capture-1-copy
