BOM’s on the go…

I decided that this year I’m gonna try to use up some of the scraps that have been accumulating…

1st I’d like to share how I organize them.

1) As I make a project I’ll pile the scraps in the corner of the cutting table..

2. When I’m finished with the cutting part of the project ill sort those scraps into baskets. from there they will pile till the basket is full.

3) next step they get sent to mom so that she can iron them and sometimes sort them. This gives her something to do and makes her feel useful.

4) From her they come back all sorted where I will place them into my bins.

Now time to share what I’ve been working on.

The 1st Project I started was Pat Sloans Merry and Bright Sew along… Each Wednesday she releases a block of a Christmas Quilt.. it will run till November and in the end we will have 17 blocks…Here are the 1st three. so far…

The 2nd Project is Elinor Burns Fun on the Farm.  This one is a BOm (block of the month) It started August 1st and will run for a full year. This is a Facebook group project.   Here is that block. joy the pig.

The 3rd Project I’m working on is Ricky Tim’s Legacy quilt…This has been a BOM that started 19 months ago.  I was a tad late but now that it’s almost over I decided that I would make this quilt and donate it to my local library.  Ricky is doing this project for Laura Ingalls Wilder’s 150th birthday.. Each blocks represents parts from her Little House on the prairie series that she wrote about her life.  These are the first 5 blocks completed so far…

So far this has not made much of a dent in my boxes.  Oh well I don’t think that our scraps ever dwindle they just keep multiplying.
