Not much happening on the homefront… one more day of RCMP boot camp chauffeuring and then both kids are off to Cadet camps for 3 weeks. Willard is of to Vernon BC and Garrett is off to Cold Lake AB… I don’t have to worry what I will do with my time this project will keep me busy. Glad that my studio is in the basement if it’s going to be hot… not that we have seen any hot weather yet.
VS Block 10
This block is easy so I may have time to make two today. Its made of
4 HST
4 Flying geese
line up the bottm edge of the triangles and the points
press towards the white to lessen bulk in the point.
and the center is a Half Square triangle with one side a 1/4 Square triangle.. if that makes sense.
layout
orange red with the black
now add the yellow orange to the set
Sections sewn so far.
Build the center section
layout of center section
sew 2 halves together but up the seams red/black
When joining the centers pin horizontally then 2 vertically to keep it from shifting.
Now build the block like a 9 patch
this demonstrates the pining of the points so that they match perfectly
I live by Mayerthorpe, Alberta Canada.A mother of 3. In my spare time I have 2 loves: Quilting and my horses these work well with the seasons. I started quilting when my oldest daughter was born 25+ years ago. I was making western shirts, when I quilt making those I had lots of bright cotton so I started making quilts. Over the last 17 years I have really gotten into it. I started taking an applique and a free motion class at my LQS. I'm now at the point where I no longer purchase Patterns. I've actually started designing my own. In 2015 I invested in EQ7 Quilt design program. In 2013 I purchased a HQ Sixteen on a 12 foot frame.
